James Haley Brady was born on September 13, 1963 in Big Spring, Texas. He was raised by his father James Brady Sr. and mother Martha Brady alongside his brother Richard Brady. During his childhood he developed an early love of comic books, traveling, music and art.

He was a graduate of Northwest Christian Academy and went on to earn a degree in law enforcement that was used to serve his community as an officer with the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office. He later founded the Living Word Fellowship Ministry, where his unconditional love poured out into the city of Sansom Park and surrounding communities for over two decades. Whether he was organizing Christmas parades, hosting fall festivals, preaching or simply feeding those in need, his hands were always busy serving.

Above all, Jim was a devoted father. He loved and supported his children more than anything. He was a proud father to Stephanie Lewis, James Brady, Daniel Brady, Meriah Acosta, and Ariel Hellwich, and a proud grandfather to Ezekiel Acosta, Eli Acosta, Zachariah Acosta, Davina Brady, Natalia Brady, Braylon McDonald, Asher Hellwich, Avigail Hellwich, Adalynn Hellwich and Alijah Hellwich. He shared with his children his great love for all things Disney and Marvel, and instilled in them an enduring passion for music and art. Jim taught them three things that defined his own life: love Jesus first, defend each other always, and never stop believing in themselves.

He was Pastor James Brady, an ordained minister and faithful friend of God. He was Brotus, a devoted friend and brother. He was Officer Brady, the policeman who served and protected his community. He was a father, pastor, singer, songwriter, guitarist, and artist.

Jim had a remarkable gift for comedy that would instantly brighten a room. He possessed a deep empathy and would sit and pray for everyone, no matter their struggles. His life was a clear demonstration of spreading the gospel through unconditional love and, more importantly, action. He showed grace to all he met, and his unwavering passion for Jesus, his family, and friends will be his legacy.

James Haley Brady will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know him.
